Based on the book by author Frederick Kohner (inspired by the real-life adventures of his own teenage daughter), the Gidget character first took to the big screen in the 1959 movie Gidget and its two sequels, before this 60s series brought her to the small screen.

Featuring guest performances from acting greats including Barbara Hershey, Richard Dreyfuss, and Michael York, head back to the carefree beachside of Malibu with the original surfer girl, Gidget.
